The missing link between Madonna, Margaret Thatcher and Keith Richards

Description

Cartier has always been a watchmaker of form and design. The bold (crazy?) bet of linking a very square case with rounded edges and small, elongated links could only be taken up by the Maison. The bet is largely successful and has been declined in solid gold, in gold and steel, in steel, paved, large size, small size...

This version is far from resembling its sisters. A rather unique model. This all-yellow gold Cartier Panthère takes its name from its dial which takes up the motif of a sunrise. Rays of gold embellish a blue mother-of-pearl dial, the whole being set with diamonds.

A watch from 1998, perhaps a landmark year for you?

Why did Françoise choose it?

If Françoise chose it, she is not the only one! We have seen it (and we see it again) on the wrists of many actresses, musicians, politicians. If a Cartier were needed for life, Françoise would certainly turn to a Panthère. The metal bracelet (whatever it may be) offers a guarantee of resistance and unrivaled comfort.

Françoise, who has a particular love for jewelry, working with materials and savoir-faire, could not miss this model. An extraordinary watch that stands out clearly from the other Panthère watches you may have seen. A collector's watch.

Watches with metal bracelets are and will always remain sporty to the eye. However, when this metal is yellow gold, and the bracelet is made of so many fine links, the jewel is not far away. Moreover, with this rare version, it is a real watch that can be described as a jeweler. Françoise likes to wear it rather casually, she breaks the codes by associating it with a more casual outfit but will most certainly wear it during her more formal evenings.

History

The Panthère watch was launched in the festive spirit of the 1980s, when Michèle Kaouni was the Director of Creation at the Maison Cartier. It takes its name from the bracelet: both supple and streamlined, it evokes the way the feline moves, with all its roundness, elegance, and sensuality. At Cartier, the evocation of the panther through its coat is part of its identity. The spotted pattern first appeared on another ladies' wristwatch in 1914, in onyx and diamonds.

From its release, it was adopted by a large and eclectic crowd: Madonna, Keith Richards, Margaret Thatcher. Why not you?
