Elegance through finesse
Description
A watch with fine lines and great elegance: here is a Zenith in 18 carat rose gold, mechanical movement with manual winding, dating from the 1960s.
A refined model where only the seconds indication is present on the dial, accompanying the signature, the applied “batons”, the pearl minute track and the elongated dauphine hands.
The domed glass recalls the vintage aesthetics of these models. However, thanks to the finesse of the case, the presence of this glass does not give the watch a "massive" appearance. On the contrary, it gives it all its charm and contributes to the character of this Zenith.
Finally, the original box, with retailer sticker “Oreficeria E. Canali, Via Zanata 4, Monza”, comes with the watch.
Why did Françoise choose it?
While it is well known that Françoise has fallen in love with some well-known watch models, it should also be noted that she greatly appreciates those that are less common. Models that are perhaps more discreet, elegant unisex models (35,5 mm) that one would wear with a suit as well as jeans. This Zenith is a watch made of precious material with a beautiful watch movement, and yet a very attractive budget. A watch that has stood the test of time and whose quality has never been altered. A watch that one enjoys wearing, then passing on.
The back of the case offers a blank surface: why not have a personalized message engraved there to make this piece unique?
History
The Manufacture was founded in 1865 by Georges Favre-Jacot in Le Locle, Switzerland, but it was not until 1911 that it was named Zenith, an allusion to the highest point of a star. Favre-Jacot is said to have been the pioneer in establishing the first "modern" factory, bringing together in one place all the watchmaking professions.
Very quickly, the watchmaking house gained a certain reputation: that of precision and innovation for its timepieces. The most notable element was most probably the creation, in 1969, of the first integrated automatic chronograph movement, the El Primero.
